Spring is all about the lawn recovering from winter, and then putting on rapid growth as the weather slowly warms up. Every year is different in weather terms, but generally Spring treatments are applied between March and May. This treatment will include applying a fertiliser and also a Herbicide to help control weeds. The fertiliser is designed to work in the cooler spring conditions, and to release food to the grass slowly. This fertiliser has an average Nitrogen Content, but also has a balanced mix of other nutrients to encourage growth and grass health. Too much Nitrogen and the grass will grow rapidly and weakly, so it is all about getting the balance right.
The herbicide application is aimed at controlling young Annual weeds as they also germinate after their winter hibernation, although perennial weeds are also beginning to grow again and this application will also help to bring these under control.
